I am teaching puppets, play writing, painting on backdrops, in a project titled

"Mi Vida: Mi Pueblo" • "My Life: My Town"
in East Salinas, California

Topics include gangs, drugs, domestic violence and health

The same topics are featured in a poetry contest that ends with awards on the weekend of November 30, 2007 in the Farmworker communities of Greenfield and Gonzales, California and includes community art classes as well as schools - so all ages are represented

This project is a partnership with several nonprofits

2008
The Mi Vida: My Life project
will continue for all of 2008, showing in several sites around Monterey County with local poetry and art workshops at each site, like the Greenfield Library and the Gonzales Library, and Artwalk in Oldtown Salinas.

I just would LOVE some narrative next to the great photos... look at Lily Yea's new site BarefootArtists.org for some more ideas! it is awesome - so up your alley! you can see more examples of the angel projects I told you about that we did together in Phili I think would be great for your kids in Greenfield... Who did the watercolor poster? Love it! also loved seeing the silk paintings. Great work! Bravo! Love Lizzie
