The Mission of The Arts Council for Monterey County is to improve the quality of life in our region through the arts. Our programs nurture and promote access, participation and excellence in all arts disciplines. The Arts Council provides arts education to over 5,000 students thanks to support from local PTAs, foundations, businesses and individuals. We provide promotional, technical and financial support to over fifty arts organizations thanks to funding from the Monterey County Board of Supervisors and a grant from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation. -- Michael Houston, President
Picture America video cameras are available for use (video arts access - participation - technical support - promotional support) by each of the Monterey County arts organizations supported by the Arts Council for Monterey County. Financial donations for use of the video cameras go directly to the Arts Council for Monterey County.
Picture America - Internet services
We also provide new Internet website set-up and hosting
services as a gift to Monterey County arts organizations. If you don't
have a website yet we can get you up and running in about an hour. Just
select a website name for your organization and you are on your way. Then
just send us text information and images by email as you help build your
site to promote your organization and special projects. You can take over
site design and maintenance as soon as you get a website volunteer onboard.
